Volvo Cars is rolling out a broad strategy aimed at reviving the brand in the United States after a decade of shrinking demand while nearly doubling sales globally. Mercedes has announced a new diesel engine, and it’s a win win situation – power is up, emissions are down. The environment can breathe a (small) sigh of relief while you have a bigger smile on your face. More importantly, it will form the base of Stuttgart's first diesel hybrid.
Another car that broke cover at Shanghai, was the Buick Envision SUV concept. The Envision is another car that slots into the coverted crossover niche, and was developed jointly by Shanghai GM and the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC). The Envision is said to merge Buick's global design language with Chinese aesthetics for the SUV segment.
